This seemingly simple study is actually full of musical devices. In the first four-bar phrase be mindful of correct alternation between i and m. Just because the first two measures have the same notes doesn’t mean that you are using the same fingers! Measures seven and eight start to use the thumb, providing you with an opportunity to practice your string crossing and accuracy.
The second half of the piece, the ‘B’ section, has a lovely little melody that is disguised on the page. You might not be able to find the melody by just looking at the notes but play through the B section and listen for two different voices. Work on bringing out the melody in this section — it starts in the treble and moves to the bass.
